About Ashegon Lake

Ashegon Lake is a soft water, seepage lake, landlocked and managed as a two-story rainbow trout, largemouth bass, panfish lake. Cisco were introduced in 1967 to provide a more extensive cold water fishery. Due to low fertility, the panfish grow slowly and are small in size.

The surrounding shoreline vegetation is upland hardwood with the exception of a small hardwood wetland along the intermittent stream on the north side. Steep hills surround most of the lake. The littoral bottom type is coarse gravel.

There is a public access at the northeast end of the lake.
